Recovery Coaching

FAVOR SC & Chapters has provided fee-free recovery coaching by volunteer Certified Peer Support Specialists several days each week since 2011. Weekly peer contacts number more than 50.

FAVOR Peer Recovery Group

In partnership with the 16th Circuit Solicitor’s Drug Court Program, FAVOR Tri-County provides a weekly meeting populated predominantly (but not entirely) by Phase I drug court participants. Most are compelled to attend this weekly meeting.

Individuals are engaged by peers in a person-centered, strength-based approach that engenders a hoped-for increase in the individual’s intrinsic motivation to change. Peers develop a recovery/change plan and the steps they will take to achieve their goals. Individuals report weekly on their own estimation of where they are in four domains of their lives. They quantify and chart their weekly values.

Telephone Recovery Support

FAVOR SC & Chapters Certified Peer Support Specialists will participate in the Telephone Recovery Support Program funded by the SAMHSA grant (See Program Funding Initiatives.)

Specially trained CPSS will enlist peers who wish to be supported by weekly recovery check-in telephone calls following their treatment episode. These trained peers will schedule and place the calls at the indicated times. They will report data on their call that will inform the formation of Recovery Oriented Systems of Care.

Recovery Oriented Systems of Care (ROSC)

A process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self –directed life and strive to reach their full potential. The central focus of a ROSC is to create an infrastructure or “System of Care” with the resources to effectively address the full range of substance use problems within communities. The substance use disorder field provides the full continuum of care (prevention, early intervention, treatment, continuing care and recovery) in partnership with other disciplines, such as mental health and primary care, in a ROSC. A ROSC encompasses a menu of individualized, person-centered and strength based services within a self- defined network. By design, a ROSC provides individuals and families with more options with which to make informed decisions regarding their care. Services are designed to be accessible, welcoming, and easy to navigate. A fundamental value of a ROSC is the involvement of people in recovery, their families and the community to continually improve access to and quality of services.
